We couldn’t have been more excited - to be able to support and contribute to an event that was such a crucial part of our growth and development over the past five years is an honor and a privilege. Throughout our years as participants we loved to explore ideas and even worked on some that followed us on our professional journey.
This year, the event was equally as exciting “from the other side”. We stayed with the teams through the entire night, debugging, helping, chatting or just providing some much-needed caffeine (while taking some well-deserved FIFA breaks of course).
The hack that we sponsored was the most innovative hack. The competition was fierce, and the selection was hard, as we heard amazing innovative ideas from multiple teams that applied. However, we felt that Jure Puh, Peter Hrovat, Luka Bergant, and Blaž Bergant from the team Alpake deserved the first place. They came up with the Take Control app, which helps you with your social media addiction. The app locks you out of your “addictive social media app” after using it for a certain amount of time a day. But getting back in is not as simple as clicking a button, you have to convince an AI chatbot why you should be let in first! For their innovative approach they won some inflatable paddle boards, which they can put to use, when their solution locks them out of their favorite social media apps.
It was a pleasure to experience the event from another perspective, as well as to hear all the amazing ideas and projects that the participants came up with! A huge congratulations to all the winners as well as everyone who took on the challenge and poured their knowledge and skills into creating something unique!
Thank you to the DragonHack organization team, for another amazing event and we can’t wait for next year!
