Eatvisor App

Eatvisor is a mobile app that works as a dietary assessment and planning tool, previously known as Open Platform for Clinical Nutrition, which is primarily used to connect clinical dietitians and doctors with patients. It allows users to assess and improve their dietary habits.

In this project we partnered with Jozef Stefan Institute, who are responsible for the backend development and we took on the responsibility of the app development using React Native. The design for the app was provided by Klemen Selakovič and his team.

Image Recognition

A part of the app is the FoodMarketMap module, which enables users to snap pictures of their shopping receipts, automatically identifying the majority of food items and their prices by cross-referencing them with a food composition database (FCDB). The items that are not recognized can be added manually by photographing them. To identify them the module then employs data-driven food recognition using the provided images. Users also receive suggestions for healthier, more sustainable, and budget-friendly alternatives following each shopping trip.

FOODITY Project

The module incorporates FOODITY components for food recognition and product identification through photos, advancing with innovative AI-driven features. These include natural language processing to match products with the FCDB, image-based recognition of food logos to assess nutritional quality and organic origins, and a recommendation system for alternative food options.

The development of the module has been selected in Foodity EU project's Open Call 1, funded by European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation action programme.
